The 'Marry The Night' singer teases what fans can expect from her first single of 2013.
Lady Gaga has promised her new single 'Applause' is "very fun" and "full of happiness" while teasing fans about the new song.
The 'You & I' singer confirmed this week that 'Applause' will be the first single from her upcoming new studio album 'ARTPOP', and says the song is basically aimed at her fan base for supporting her over the years.
“I’ll tell you that it is very fun," Lady Gaga revealed to WWD this week. "And that it’s full of happiness, because what I’m saying in the song essentially is that I live for the applause.
"I live for the way you cheer and scream for me," the US star explained. "Give me that thing that I love. Put your hands up, make them touch."
The 'Marry The Night' singer went on to explained the songwriting process behind 'Applause' and what the song means to her.
"In my heart of hearts as I was writing, I knew that if I asked [the fans] to cheer for me before I sang or if I alluded to the fact that they would cheer for me before I sang," Gaga added. "They do that all the time for me, before I even open my mouth, the fans start cheering for me."
The 'Judas' singer has also revealed that music video for 'Applause' was filmed earlier this month.
Lady Gaga releases new album 'ARTPOP' on 11th November after she launches 'Applause' on 19th August.
