The 'Marry The Night' singer says she dislikes the constant comparisons between the two stars.
Lady Gaga has been defended from constant Madonna comparison by fellow singer Cher, who says the two stars are completely unique.
The 'Believe' singer says claims Lady Gaga is the "young" Madonna are inaccurate because "all these people are themselves".
"There is no young me. If you get to that, if you get to a certain level you have to be the young you," Cher told Attitude magazine, when asked which young stars she sees herself in. "You can't be the young anybody else.
"That's why Gaga is Gaga and Madonna is Madonna," she explained. "All these people are themselves.
"You can't be the young anybody. Until I'm dead. Maybe when I'm dead, someone will go, 'Oh that's the young Cher'," the singer joked. "But I like Gaga because of her audacity."
Cher returned with new album 'Closer To The Truth' this month while 'Applause' singer Lady Gaga drops her album 'ARTPOP' on 11th November, with new single 'Venus' coming on 25th October.
