The international sportsman is apparently keen on getting behind the decks after meeting the Scottish producer last year.

Premier League football star Steven Gerrard has reportedly been "learning the ropes" and taking DJ lessons from Scottish star Calvin Harris.

The Liverpool ace met the 'Feels So Close' singer-producer out in Las Vegas last year and his passion has since escalated for dance music, reports the Daily Star.

"Stevie is mad on house music and really fancies his chances doing some DJ-ing," a source told the publication. "He's been taking it quite seriously, having a few lessons.

"He DJ'd at a friend's party recently and went down a storm. He was really enjoying himself and to be fair to him he was pretty decent behind the decks."

It was also reported recently that another British sports star, Lewis Hamilton, was looking to make a break into the music industry and forge a rap career after meeting J Cole.

Meanwhile, Calvin is currently finalising details for his new studio album '18 Months' which will feature collaborations with the likes of Tine Tempah, Ellie Goulding and Rihanna.

His recent Vodafone Big Top 40 number one 'We'll Be Coming Back' and new song with Florence Welch, 'Sweet Nothing', will also be on the tracklisting.
