The 'We Found Love' producer says he finds creating hit music straight forward.

Calvin Harris has said making pop music is like making a ham sandwich.

The DJ and producer, who has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Tinie Tempah, said he finds the formula of making music straight forward.

"It's incredibly easy to do, but hard to do perfectly," he told The Guardian.

"I'd struggle to make a perfect ham sandwich because I never make them, whereas pop music comes naturally to me - it's what I do every day."

Calvin's latest studio album '18 Months' recently became his first platinum album.

The record features all of the star's biggest collaborations in recent years, including 'We Found Love' featuring Rihanna and his latest single 'Drinking From The Bottle' featuring rapper Tinie Tempah.

Calvin was among the artists who performed at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball earlier this month.
