The 'Criminal' singer has called off her engagement to the agent and confirms exit from music reality show.
Britney Spears has confirmed her split from her fiancé Jason Trawick following two years together.
The couple were engaged at the end of 2011 but have decided to part ways and confessed they will "remain great friends".
"Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement," revealed a statement from the singer's representative. "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."
The pair also released individual statements to People magazine, in which the 'Crazy' singer said she will always "adore" Jason.
"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement," she said. "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
"As this chapter ends for us a new one begins," Trawick added. "I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."
Britney has also confirmed reports that she has left The X Factor USA as she looks to focus on her new album.
"I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio," she revealed. "Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."
The singer has been rumoured to be making a live return with a residency at a Las Vegas hotel to perform a long-running show.
