The 'Criminal' singer says she is "focused" on new music and working with some "inspiring producers" on the record.

Britney Spears has confirmed that she is busy working on her new studio album.

The 'Toxic' singer was taking part in a fan question and answering session on her Twitter account this past weekend and announced plans for the record stating she was "really focused".

"Really focused on my music right now...," she wrote in response to a group of fans asking when they could expect to hear new music from the US star.

The singer admitted to her followers that she was "working hard" on the record and is set to collaborate with some "new inspiring producers".

The album will be Britney's first since 2011's 'Femme Fetale' and follows on from her recent collaboration with rapper Will.i.am on the pair's new song 'Scream And Shout'.

Meanwhile, the singer's future with The X Factor USA has also continued to dominate recent talk around the star as her debut stint on the judging panel of the show came to a close earlier this month.

Country singer Tate Stevens beat the 'In The Zone' star's own act Carly Rose Soneclar in the final of the show.
