Ariana Grande and Jim Carrey just had the most honest chat about depression

Ariana Grande has been extremely open when it comes to updating her fans about her mental health. The "Monopoly" singer recently shared an image showing the effects of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) on her brain with her Instagram followers, and she revealed that she was feeling "empty" just before she was due to headline at Coachella for the second time.

Now Ariana's speaking about depression once again and it's sparked the most wholesome exchange between her and the "love of her life".

On Saturday (April 20.), Ari shared a Jim Carrey quote on her Instagram Story about depression, which read: "Depression is your body saying, 'I don’t want to be this character anymore. I don’t want to hold up this avatar that you've created in the world. It’s too much for me.'

"You should think of the word 'depressed' as 'deep rest'. Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character that you’ve been trying to play."

Ariana then admitted that she was a huge fan of the actor and comedian, and her first AIM username was even "jimcarreyfan42" when she was in 4th grade.

Well, Jim saw her post and contacted her on Twitter, tweeting her back another quote and wishing her a happy easter – aww.

"@ArianaGrande I read your lovely mention of me and things I've said about depression. A brilliant teacher and friend, Jeff Foster was OG on the 'Deep Rest' concept. I admire your openness. I wish you freedom and peace. I feel blessed to have such a gifted admirer. Happy Easter!"

Of course, being a global superstar Ari is used to people crumbling when she tweets them, but for once it was Ariana freaking out.

She replied: "i can’t process this or breathe hold on."
