The 'Set Fire To The Rain' singer's partner was said to have turned up on her doorstep the day before the event.

Adele's boyfriend Simon Konecki reportedly flew over as a surprise to be with the singer on the night of the Grammy Awards 2013 last weekend.

Fresh reports suggest Simon, who has a baby son with the 'Rolling In The Deep' star, had been out working on a charity project in Africa before deciding to fly over to Los Angeles to support Adele at the last minute.

"Adele kept asking Simon to fly over and spend time with her before the Grammys and Oscars next weekend," a source close to the charity worker revealed to the Daily Star. "For weeks he refused and then he suddenly arrived on her doorstep.

"Adele cried when she saw him," they explained. "She couldn't believe he'd kept it a secret from her.

"She even joked that she was concerned about what a good liar he was!"

Adele wowed on the Grammys red carpet this past Sunday (10th February) in a red patterned Valentino gown, and was awarded with the gong for Best Pop Solo Performance for her single 'Set Fire To The Rain'.

Her acceptance speech was almost interrupted by a stage invader, later revealed to be a Ukrainian journalist, who has since been arrested and charged with trespassing.

The 'Someone Like Me' singer recently revealed that she is "not very far along" on the progress of her third studio album.

Adele is set to give her comeback performance at the Oscars 2013 ceremony next weekend (24th February), where she has been nominated for Best Original Song for 'Skyfall'.
