Adele, Lady Gaga And Coldplay Nominated For Q Awards 2012

Nicki Minaj will also be hoping to win Best Video for her hit single 'Starships' at the industry event this year.

Coldplay and Lady Gaga will go head to head for the Best Act In The World Today category at the Q Awards 2012.

The music publication released the nominations of their annual awards today (6^th September) which also features the likes of Adele and Nicki Minaj hoping to scoop some of the biggest prizes on the night.

Joining Gaga and Chris Martin's group in the Best Act In The World Today category include the newly reformed The Stone Roses, Muse and Blur.

Pregnant singer Adele will be hoping to add the Best Solo Artist to her Grammy and BRIT Awards triumphs earlier this year.

Rizzle Kicks are also among the nominations, scooping a nod in the Best Track category for their hit 'Mama Do The Hump'.

Nicki will face competition from Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and The Killers in the Best Video category after she received a nomination for her smash hit 'Starships'.
