The 'Rumour Has It' star could be set to take on the role of the late 'Son Of A Preacher Man' singer.
Adele is reportedly in the running to portray legendary singer Dusty Springfield in a big-screen biopic that could begin shooting as early as next year.
The 'Someone Like You' singer is said to be "attached" to the new project, which would follow the late soul star's reinvention during the late sixties working on her seminal record 'Dusty In Memphis', which featured one of her trademark hits 'Son Of A Preacher Man'.
"There's a project, and it's true Adele is attached, but it's in an early stage of development," a studio executive close to the project revealed to the Daily Mail this week.

Boardwalk Empire screenwriter David Stenn is also linked to the project to pen the script, and a representative for 'Rolling In The Deep' singer Adele made "no comment" when asked about the rumours.
Adele is currently working on her third studio album following her huge success at both the BRIT Awards and the Oscars earlier this year.
