Adele Quashes Throat Cancer Rumours

A spokesperson for Adele has rubbished internet rumours about the 'Someone Like You' singer's health problems.

Speculation over the weekend had prompted the '21' singer's fan base to setup the Twitter hashtag, #PrayForAdele, which has been trending.

In a statement issued to Capital FM, her record label XL Recordings again stressed that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal chord.

"All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false," they added.

Last week, Adele announced that the surgery had forced her to cancel her remaining live dates for 2011 in the UK and America.

Despite her ongoing voice problems, Adele's second album '21' is still one of the biggest-selling albums of the year on both sides of the Atlantic.
