St. David's Day

The countdown is on to St David's Day!

Here at Capital FM we're teaming up with Cardiff Council to ensure you have a great time over the coming few days.

There are some great events to enjoy including the Welsh Food Festival, a chance to meet Epico the Dragon and the St David's Day run. Full details can be found below.

St David's Day Parade:

The highlight of the festivities is Tuesday's St David's Day Parade in Cardiff. It takes place through the capital from City Hall to the Hayes.

The Capital FM Street Stars will be at the parade handing out Welsh cakes, Capital FM goodies and possibly snapping you.

Schools can take part in the celebrations. Here's a few ideas...

    * Make a daffodil or leek out of recycled material
    * Paint your face in the red, white and green
    * Wear a traditional costume or make your own
    * Bake some Welsh cakes

Businesses can join in too. Come out in your lunch break to join the parade or just watch events unfold with a sandwich!

If you can't make it out why not plan an event at your workplace:

    * Wear red for the day
    * Bring in some Welsh cakes

Basically, everyone is invited! So if you love Wales come and show your support. Coach parking is available at Sophia Gardens.
