Reason For Nomination: Nadine's been chosen as an Olympic torch bearer in recognition of the years she has spent years campaigning for more local services for children with heart defects.

She and her husband Ivan both raise money for the Children's Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle (CHUF) Together they have raised nearly £175,000 after their son Seb was born with a heart defect and had to have open heart surgery performed by vsurgeons at the hospital when he was just 3 months old.

The Route: On Friday, June 15th, the Olympic Flame will travel through North Tyneside starting at 2.06pm near Whitley Bay Mini Golf on The Links and finish at 4.42pm on Station Road in Wallsend. The Flame will be welcomed by thousands of local school pupils. The majority will be at The Links in Whitley Bay, The Broadway in Cullercoats and Tynemouth Green. There will also be a steel band performance by North Tyneside Steel Band outside the Spanish City Dome, Whitley Bay; dance performances by members of the Phoenix Detached Youth Project outside their premises in Front Street, North Shields; a samba band performance by the Silver Sambanistas outside the former Co-op building in Wallsend.
