Reason For Nomination: Aidan was injured in Afghanistan in 2009 and given 5 minutes to live at the time of injury.
Informed by doctors that at the time, that the injury would prevent him from being able to perform endurance sports at the level at which he was able to prior to the injury.
Since then he went on to complete the Great North Run and walk the entire Hadrian`s Wall route carrying all equipment that was required for the walk raising £1200 for charity.
Aidan was nominated to carry the torch by his sister.
