2. Monse Finnie is played by Sierra Capri
Sierra Capri plays Monse Finnie. The role of Monse is Sierra's very first on-screen starring role. She also played an extra in 2016’s Hidden Figures. When Netflix began casting, she was living in Atlanta, Georgia, after having completed her junior year as a biology major at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. Sierra also appeared in 2019's American Skin.

3. Ruby Martinez is played by Jason Genao
Jason Genao plays Ruby Martinez. The 25-year-old Dominican-born American actor is probably most known for his role as Napoleon in Netflix’s The Get Down. He’s also had roles in Logan and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Jason is 5ft 1 1/2 inches tall, in case you were wondering.

4. Cesar Diaz is played by Diego Tinoco
Diego Tinoco plays Cesar Diaz. Fans of Teen Wolf will probably recognise him as Mateo who made one appearance in season 6. He’s also made appearances in short films such as Welcome To Valhalla (2017) and Drizzle Of Hope (2015).

5. Jamal Turner is played by Brett Grey
Brett Grey plays Jamal Turner. He’s previously had roles in Law & Order: SVU and can also be seen in the NBC show Rise as one of the dancers in the pilot episode. Brett also played Clarence in Netflix's When They See Us.

6. Oscar 'Spooky' Diaz is played by Julio Macias
Julio Macias plays the role of Oscar ‘Spooky’ Diaz, Cesar’s brother and former leader of the Santos gang. In real life, he does not look like Spooky. Did you even recognise him without all those tattoos?! Julio has had roles in Jane The Virgin and TV mini series La Vida ed Como el Cine. His most recent role was as Pete Astudillo in Netflix's Selena: The Series.

7. Jasmine is played by Jessica Marie Garcia
Jessica Marie Garcia plays the hilarious Jasmine Flores. Jessica is an American actress hailing from Florida who you’ll probably know as Willow from all four seasons of Disney Channel’s Original series Liv and Maddie. She also had roles on The Middle, Huge and How To Get Away With Murder (as Rhonda Navarro). She is also a member of the all-female ensemble cast of BETCH: A Sketch Show.

8. Latrelle is played by Jahking Guillory
Jahking Guillory plays Latrelle, a member of the Prophets, the rival gang of the Santos. Jahking, who hails from California, is best known for his starring role in the 2016 film, Kicks. The actor also appeared in Lena Waithe’s series “The Chi” as Coogie, Facebook Watch's Five Points and The CW's Black Lightning.

9. Ruby's Abuela is played by Peggy Blow
Peggy Blow plays Ruby’s Abelula. She’s had iconic roles in both seasons of American Crime Story, How To Get Away With Murder, Castle, Dexter, Criminal Minds, Desperate Housewives, That’s So Raven and Seinfeld across a three-decade career.

10. Mario Martinez is played by Danny Ramirez
Danny plays Ruby's older brother Mario. The actor made his television debut on Showtime's The Affair followed by roles on NBC's Blindspot and the feature film, Rapid Eye Movement. He also appeared in Netflix's Orange Is The New Black and recently played Wes on Fox's The Gifted. Danny's latest role was as Joaquin Torres in Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Ruby's mother Geny is played by Colombian American actress Paula Garces. You might have seen her on TV shows such as CSI: Miami, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, The Sopranos, Devious Maids, The Good Wife and All My Children.

12. Amber is played by Shoshana Bush
Shoshana plays Mario Martinez's pregnant girlfriend, Amber. Shoshana has also appeared in 2 Broke Girls, Awkward. and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager.

13. Paula is played by Maleah Goldberg
Maleah plays Paula, who works with Cesar and Jamal at the BBQ joint. She appears in season 2, episode 5. This is Maleah's first major TV show appearance. She is currently at university, studying Film and Television Production and Theatre. You can find her on Instagram at @maleah.goldberg.

14. Olivia is played by Ronni Hawk
Ronni Hawk played Olivia in season one of On My Block. She does not appear in season 2. This is the second TV role for 19-year-old Ronni. She previously played the role of Rachel on the Disney sitcom “Stuck In The Middle” for 45 episodes before leaving the show to star on “On My Block.” Ronni - real name Veronica - is also a ballet dancer.

15. Ainsley Riches is played by Mallory James Mahoney

16. Vero is played by Nikki Rodriguez in On My Block season 4
Nikki Rodriguez plays Vero in On My Block season 4. Nikki is a newcomer, and On My Block season 4 is her first major TV role. Elsewhere, she's appeared in the TV shows Speechless and Adam Ruins Everything.
