The first look at Love, Simon spin-off Love, Victor has arrived
Love, Victor is the spin-off of cult 2018 film, Love, Simon and will premiere its first episode on Hulu on 19th June 2020, after it was rejected by Disney+ for not being family-friendly enough.
Love, Simon fans, our time has come, because the first clip from new spin-off series Love, Victor has just dropped - and it looks seriously good.
The show, set to premiere on 19th June on Hulu, follows on from the original 2018 rom-com, when a new student at Creekwood High School takes their first leap into a journey of self-discovery. You already know this is going to be wholesome as hell.

Original Love, Simon star Nick Robinson will be narrating the new series (as well as producing), and it will star Michael Cimino and George Sear in the leading roles, as main character, Victor, falls for openly gay high school friend Benji during a series of 30-minute episodes.
Other members of the Love, Victor cast include Ana Ortiz as Victor's mother Isabel, James Martinez as Victor's father Armando, Isabella Ferreira as Victor's sister Pilar, Mateo Fernandez as Victor's younger brother Adrian, and Rachel Naomi Hilson and Bebe Wood as Victor's friends Mia and Lake.
Love, Victor - First Look • A Hulu Original
In the first preview clip, we see Victor applying for a new job at a coffee shop, where he's greeted by one hell-of-a flirty assistant manager (AKA Benji), which prompts him to run out and withdraw his application when things get uncomfortable and sexual tension brews over a milk steamer. To be fair, we'd be distracted by those arms too.
Fans have also been quick to notice that the coffee shop in question, is the same one that Simon and his friends used to go to in the original films. We love an Easter egg.
Love, Victor was originally set to launch on Disney+, but was moved over to sister platform Hulu, after the production giant dubbed it "not family-friendly enough" due to its sexual nature and alcohol use.
While fans were disappointed that Disney rejected its chance to give LGBTQ+ education to younger viewers, it seems like all has been forgiven after the exciting first look at the show:

There's even more reason to get excited because author Becky Albertalli is releasing a sequel to the show-we-haven't-even-seen-yet, called Love, Creekwood, which will be set "during the gang's first year of college" and will take place after the events of Leah on the Offbeat and before the events of Love, Victor. The new addition is set to be released as an e-book on 30th June, and we can't imagine it'll be too long before it hits the big screen either. Exciting.
This is set to be one show that's worth staying in lockdown for. Popcorn at the ready...
