The actor was not down with these homophobic remarks.
KJ Apa responded this week to a homophobic comment made by Rugby player Israel Folau on Instagram. The Riverdale actor condemned Folau's statements that gay people would be sent to hell by God.

Israel Folau is currently the highest paid Australian rugby player. Since these remarks, Folau has faced intense backlash.
"Very disappointing comments. Our role as Christians is to LOVE not judge. What gives you the right to condemn? Are you perfect? Sit down."

Fans were impressed after KJ scolded the athlete for his remarks. "Finding alot of reasons to be a KJ Apa fangirl lately, and just gonna add one more," wrote one Twitter user in response to the situation.
It doesn't appear that Folau has responded to KJ's Instagram Story about him.
KJ isn't shy about discussing his religious beliefs. Last year, in an interview with Elle, the New Zealander told the magazine "I'm a Christian, so my relationship with my spiritual side and relationship with God is everything to me."
No matter what your faith is, I think we can all agree that judging and condemning people for something out of their control is NOT the wave.
