Disney+ streaming service will have FOUR Marvel shows all linked to the MCU

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, What If? and an untitled Loki TV series starring Tom Hiddleston are all in the works at Disney's new streaming service and are key to the post-Endgame MCU.

Do you ever feel like you're not getting enough Marvel content? Does having to wait a few months for the next big-screen MCU adventure make you sad? Well, we've got some amazing news. Disney have announced that their new streaming service, Disney+, will be home to FOUR brand new Marvel TV shows - and they're all connected to the MCU.

President of Marvel Studio Kevin Feige has confirmed that a handful of long-form TV shows will be available on Disney+ and will be key to the post-Endgame future of the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame synopsis and run time have been revealed

The shows that have been confirmed will feature Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Loki (Tom Hiddeston).

What Marvel TV shows will be on Disney+?

The streaming service has confirmed that there will be at least four TV shows that will feature at least six of the characters we know and love from the MCU. All the characters, including those on the animated series, will be played by the same actors who played them in the Marvel films.

Here are all the confirmed MCU TV shows so far:

Untitled Loki series

Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki. No other information about the show has been released.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, the series will follow Falcon and Bucky. No plot information has been released.

WandaVision

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will return as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision and yes, that is the actual name of the show. Sounds like a sitcom, doesn't it?!

What If?

What If will be Marvel Studio’s first animated series. Each episode will explore a different hypothetic situation focusing on a “pivotal moment from the MCU and turn it on its head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.”

The first episode of the series asks the question: “What if Peggy Carter became a super soldier, and what if Steve Rogers stayed a scrawny kid but joined the fight using an armored suit built by Howard Stark?”

New and current Marvel cast members will lend their voices to the series.

Will there be a Hawkeye TV show?

While it has not been confirmed, it's been reported that a series about Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner, is also in the works for the streaming service.

According to Variety, the series will focus on Clint Barton/Hawkeye as he passes the torch to Kate Bishop. Bishop is Barton's successor. She becomes the next Hawkeye and is also a member the group known as the Young Avengers.

Again, this series is not yet confirmed.

Will they be linked to the actual Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Yes. Speaking at the Disney+ event, Kevin Feige revealed that unlike other Marvel TV shows (like Netflix's shows), these new series will feature “major storylines set in the MCU,” with “ramifications” for other Disney+ series and big-screen Marvel adventures.

“These shows will be on the same level of quality that you’ve come to expect from Marvel Studios and we’re taking advantage of the freedom offered by Disney+, exploring the MCU and our favorite characters over multiple episodes," said Feige.

"These will be both new and continuing stories and one of the things we’re most excited about is that these will be major storylines set in the MCU with ramifications that will be felt both in the Disney+ shows we’re producing and our features on the big screen.”

The new series will be “introducing new [characters] in ways that deepen the mythology and significantly impact the future of the MCU.”

Will The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil and Luke Cage be on Disney+?

As of right now, there is no information about any of these shows being picked up by Disney+. For now, it's likely that the previous seasons of those shows will only exist on Netflix and no more episodes will be be released.

There's been some speculation that Disney+ could revive Luke Cage and Iron Fist in the 'Heroes for Hire' series but that remains to be seen.
