"If you look at the iconography of the first three seasons, you can figure who I’ve gone to and who might be coming back."
With the gates of Camp Redwood now officially closed, American Horror Story: 1984 has come to an end and it's time to start looking ahead to what season 10 will bring to the universe.
While Ryan Murphy is keeping his lips sealed on the potential theme of the tenth (and possible final) season, he has, however, been dropping hints over who in the cast could possibly be returning – and it's good news for the day one AHS fans.

While 1984 saw the newer cast members take centre stage, Murphy has said that he has reached out to "the people who helped build this show into what it is" and they've all said yes.
Speaking to Deadline in a new interview, Murphy said: "We’re working on an idea for season 10 that I think people will love because it’s about reuniting fan-favourite actors to come back — because it might be our last season. It’s the last season we have contracted."
"So, I’ve been quietly reaching out to various people," he continued. "Some people I haven’t reached out to yet because I was like do I have a role. So far, everybody I reached out to said ‘Yes’, so that’s been great."
Hinting further about who would be returning, Murphy teased: *I’ll just sort of say, the people who helped build this show into what it is, who believed in it from the beginning, have been contacted and are interested. So if you look at the iconography of the first three seasons, you can figure who I’ve gone to and who might be coming back.*
ORIGINAL CAST BONANZA, HERE WE COME!?
So far, we know that Murphy has spoken to Evan Peters about returning to the show after he took a year off. Sarah Paulson has also expressed her desire to come back for season 10, too. ("If [Evan will] come back, I'm back.")
As for who else Murphy could have contacted? Well, Connie Britton, Taissa Farmiga and Dylan McDermott, who returned as a serial killer in 1984, for a start. Coven legends Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett, who both took time out of the series due to scheduling conflicts, could also return. Fans would also no doubt love to see Frances Conroy, Denis O'Hare, Jamie Brewer and Lily Rabe join the cast too.
But could Jessica Lange return? Speaking to The Wrap, Jessica previously said that coming back for another season was off the table for her and that she wouldn't want to "start from scratch and create a character."
She also added: "And also I think a lot of the actors that I was working with, people that I really love working with, like Sarah [Paulson] or Frances [Conroy] or Kathy [Bates] – I don’t know who’s in this new season, but I don’t think it would be the same.”
Here's hoping Ryan manages to pull off an all-star AHS season 10...for Jessica's sake, mostly.
