You season 2 fans think Love killed her husband and it actually checks out

Netflix viewers have a You season 2 theory about Love and her husband and it will blow your mind.

You season 2 gave Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) a new love interest and fans have a huge theory about Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti).

As soon as You first aired in 2018, we've been obsessed with it. Not only is it next-level bonkers (the Charles Dickens festival still haunts me), it's also gripping from start to finish (we really thought Beck was gonna escape the glass box)... and season 2 is just as crazy. It sees Joe relocate to LA, obsess over Love Quinn and get back on his stalking and murdering bullshit.

Just like season 1, season 2 has left viewers with plenty of unanswered questions and it's led people to come up with some theories as to what's in store for us in season 3 and what wasn't explained in season 2. For example, fans are certain that Joe's new neighbour is his mum and now they think that Love killed her dead husband, James, before meeting Joe.

Did Love kill her husband in You season 2?

In You season 2, we find out early on that Love was married and her husband died. Love explains to Joe that James became sick and passed away a few years before she met Joe. In flashbacks, we see James tell Love that he doesn't want to have children with her and, just months later, James tells Love the devastating news that he is suffering from a fatal illness.

However, it's never explained exactly how James died. Cut to the season finale and we learn that Love is a stalker and serial killer just like Joe. She slit Delilah's throat, stabbed Candace and even killed Forty's au-pair years before. Taking all of this into consideration, it seems likely that she could have murdered more people and James was possibly her victim.

One person tweeted: "What if Love poisoned her husband... you notice how she’s making treats daily.... they couldn’t figure out why her husband died, but maybe she poisoned him over time." Another added: "But like we all agree Love poisoned and killed her first husband bc he wouldnt give a baby right."

As it stands, You's creators haven't confirmed this theory but it seems possible. Fingers crossed we find out in season 3.
