The actress who plays Betty Cooper on 'Riverdale' has one big reason for doing her own makeup on this upcoming season.
The filming of Riverdale season 3 is well underway. Last season was a big one for Lili Reinhart's character, Betty Cooper, and Season 3 will likely see her take on more responsibility both on and off screen. One big way Lili will be taking on more responsibility is through her skin and makeup on the show.
In an article for Refinery29, Lili revealed that she is doing her own makeup this season for one completely understandable reason.
The CW star has been fairly open about how her acne has impacted her self esteem. In the R29 article, Lili revealed that she will be doing her makeup this series because of how well she knows her own skin.
"I do my own makeup for the show this season," she writes "We have a head of makeup and she's great, but I know my skin better than anyone else and I know what works. Riverdale is such a perfect world that my skin has to look perfect, so I cover my breakouts; it's just the aesthetic of the show, which can be hard."
For context, television stars on major networks don't usually do their own makeup.
Lili went on to explain that her co-stars often have "beautiful, clear, smooth skin" which left her feeling like "the odd one out".
Last year, Lili filmed a fresh faced makeup tutorial for Vogue and even referenced her experience with break outs. "My skin breaks out all the time whether I'm filming or not," she explained.

Well done to Lili for taking charge on an issue she's pretty much an expert on. The Riverdale makeup artists are likely extremely skilled and talented, but no one ever knows your skin like you do.
