The Bridgerton prequel is finally here and fans are about to get a glimpse at the origins of Queen Charlotte and King George. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is packed full of young, talented faces, as well as a few of our faves from the main series. Here's who plays who in the show, and where you've seen them before. India Amarteifio plays the younger version of Queen Charlotte in the series. Disney Channel viewers may recognise her from her role as Lacie Fairburn in Evermoor. She appeared in 32 episodes between 2015 and 2017. Elsewhere, India has appeared in one episode of Sex Education season 1, Gangster Granny, Doctor Who, Line of Duty and was also in 2019's Military Wives movie. [Netflix]
Corey Mylchreest portrays young King George in the Queen Charlotte series. King George is Corey’s very first major role in a series, but Netflix viewers might recognise him from his brief appearance as Adonis in The Sandman. Corey’s is easily one of Queen Charlotte’s standout performances, so expect the rising star to pop up in plenty more shows across the new few years. [Netflix]
Arsema Thomas plays the young Lady Danbury in Queen Charlotte. Believe it or not, Arsema is a newcomer and the Netflix series is her first major role! She previously appeared in the 2022 film Redeeming Love, which also starred Nina Dobrev, Eric Dane and Abigail Bowen. [Netflix]
Sam Clemmett brings young Brimsley to life in Queen Charlotte. The Netflix series is Sam’s biggest role to date, having previously popped up a handful of UK TV shows including Doctors, Holby City and Endeavour. He also played the role of Yuri in AppleTV+’s Cherry, starring Tom Holland. [Netflix]
Freddie Dennis plays Reynolds, the King’s devoted butler, in Queen Charlotte. Freddie is a newcomer, and the role of Reynolds is his most notable role to date. He previously portrayed young Rotham in HBO Max’s The Nevers. [Netflix]
Tunji Kasim plays Adolphus, Queen Charlotte’s brother. The CW viewers will instantly recognise Tunji as Ned “Nick” Nickerson from Nancy Drew – the actor portrayed Nick throughout the show’s entire run. Elsewhere, he’s also appeared in films such as Florence Foster Jenkins and The Good Liar. [Netflix]
Golda Rosheuvel plays Queen Charlotte, reprising her role from the main Bridgerton series. Golda’s previous on-screen credits include a slew of iconic British TV shows including Torchwood, Coronation Street and Silent Witness. Golda also portrays Shadout Mapes in Denis Villeneuve's Dune, and has appeared in Lady Macbeth opposite Florence Pugh as Agnes. [Netflix]
Michelle Fairley plays Princess Augusta, King George’s traditional mother in the series. If you’ve watched Game of Thrones, you’ll already know who Michelle is… The Northern Irish actress portrayed Catelyn Stark for the first three seasons of the show, and has also appeared a handful of other major TV shows including Suits, 24: Live Another Day and, most recently, Gangs of London. For the eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans out there, she also played Hermione’s mum in Deathly Hallows: Part 1. [Netflix]
Adjoa Andoh brings the iconic Lady Danbury back to our screens in Queen Charlotte. Prior to Bridgerton, Adjoa’s most well-known role in the UK was probably as Colette in Casualty. Her previous on-screen credits includes 2009’s Invictus, Doctor Who (as Francine Jones), Line of Duty and Broadchurch. [Netflix]
Ruth Gemmel plays Lady Violet Bridgerton, the matriarch of the Bridgerton family and member of Queen Charlotte’s inner circle. Ruth’s previous on-screen credits include Utopia, Eastenders, Waking the Dead and Home Fires. [Netflix]
Hugh Sachs returns as Queen Charlotte’s beloved butler Brimsley in the Netflix limited series. UK viewers will likely recognise Hugh from his role in Benidorm, where he portrayed Gavin Ramsbottom. [Netflix]
James Fleet plays the older version of King George in Queen Charlotte, reprising his role from the main series. James’ most notable role for UK audiences is Hugo in The Vicar of Dibley. Throughout his long career in British film and TV, he’s also played Robbie Sloane in Coronation Street, Frederick Dorrit in Little Dorrit and played the role of John Dashwood in 1995’s Sense and Sensibility opposite Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.
