The actress and singer is said to be taking the alleged split "hard" after reports of their break-up this week.
Selena Gomez is said to be throwing herself into work on her next album in the wake of widespread reports about her apparent split from boyfriend Justin Bieber.
The 'Love You Like A Love Song' singer and 'Boyfriend' star Justin are widely believed to have ended their romance in the last week, over reported issues with the long distance nature of their relationship, and Selena is said to be taking the break-up "hard".
"She's sad. It's hard for her," a source told E! Online this week. "It's really good that she's with family and friends
The Disney actress arrived in New York City over the weekend to launch her new fashion collection with Kmar, as well as attending the Glamour awards this week.
"She's going to be in the studio," the source added, regarding Selena's plans following the break-up. "That's what she's focused on."
'Boyfriend' singer also seemed to be in a pensive mood this week when he tweeted the following in the wake of widespread reports about the apparent break-up: "Life is short. It's gonna be what it's gonna be. As long as u put your best foot forward." - Glenn. words from a stranger I just met :)."
While neither has made any comment on reports of their apparent separation, recent reports suggest Justin is still hoping he can reconcile with his girlfriend of two years.

"He has been calling and texting her," a source told the NY Daily News. "He's been reaching out to her friends.
Justin Bieber continues his 'Believe' tour later this week and will also perform at the American Music Awards 2012 this weekend (18th November).
