The 'One Thing' singer quit Twitter earlier this week, telling his five million followers that he was sick of abuse he had been getting on the social-networking website.
Fans of Zayn and One Direction have continued to try trending the hashtag #ComeBackZayn in a bid to encourage the 'What Makes You Beautiful' star to return.
There has been no indication from Zayn's bandmates that he plans to return to Twitter but one tabloid newspaper has claimed that he could be set to make a comeback imminently.

Meanwhile, One Direction have promised to make a "big announcement" today (23rd August) – with fans speculating that it could be about new music.
The group have been busy working on their new album – the follow-up to 2011's 'Up All Night' – in London over recent months.
