Netflix announce Umbrella Academy season 2 release date
The Umbrella Academy season 2 will drop on Netflix in July 2020.
Finally! The wait for The Umbrella Academy season 2 is officially over... almost. After just over a year waiting for the next instalment of the Gerard Way-penned comic series adaptation, Netflix have revealed that season 2 will be arriving in a matter of weeks.
Announcing the news via an adorable video of the cast dancing around at home in quarantine to Tiffany's 'I Think We're Alone Now', Netflix confirmed that the new season will be released on Friday 31st July, 2020.

The good news comes after it was revealed that editing and post-production was still (safely) going ahead despite the shut downs put in place by the streaming service due to coronavirus concerns.
Plot details about The Umbrella Academy season 2 have been kept well under wraps but thanks to the tag line of the new season, we know for sure that time travel will once again be heavily involved.
Following Vanya's antics in the season 1 finale, the Hargreeves siblings went hurtling through time thanks to Number Five's quick thinking. Season 2 will focus on "when" they are, as opposed to "where" they went.
Show runner Steve Blackman even hinted at a possible time shift when he shared a brand new photo of Diego (played by David Castañeda) with long hair and a beard. Could they have gone back as far as the '60s or '70s?
Guess we'll find out on July 31st!
