American actor Joel Courtney plays Lee Flynn, the lifelong best friend of the film's protagonist Elle Evans. Lee and Elle are extremely close, but hit a rough patch in their friendship when Lee discovers that Elle is dating his older brother. Joel Courtney has previously appeared in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Super 8".
