Tall Girl viewers are pointing out this ridiculous detail about Jodi's height in the Netflix movie

Jodi (played by Ava Michelle) is the tallest girl at her high school and it's caused her trouble for years. The Tall Girl's height had Netflix viewers talking, but not for the reason you think.
Netflix's highly anticipated teen rom-com Tall Girl arrived on 13 September and it was a fascinating ride from start to finish. The film tells the story of a girl named Jodi (played by Ava Michelle) who towers above her classmates, despite only being 6 foot 1½ inches tall.
In Tall Girl we see many moments where Jodi looks like she is truly a giant, however, loads of people actually made the hilariously logical observation that 6 foot 1½ is really not that tall in the grand scheme of things.

For reference, Jodi's character is only three inches taller than Gigi Hadid, two inches taller than Taylor Swift, and just 1½ inches taller than Cole Sprouse. You get where I'm going with this, right? None of those celebrities are particularly known for their tallness.
People definitely noticed that Tall Girl's height was being pretty exaggerated, especially because of Ava Michelle's shorter than average cast mates.
Made her look 6’6”- 7’1” not 6’1” in “Tall Girl.” She’s 6’1” & every guy looks no taller than 5’3” 😂. Sorry, @netflix, cute plot, but there’s a lot of males & females that are 6’1”. Made her seem like she was the only 6’1” person on earth. Look @ the vid ⬇️#tallgirlnetflix pic.twitter.com/BJtkTwBdhT

I thought Tall Girl was an incredibly moving masterpiece that captures the essence of being a tall girl in a time where other girls aren’t as tall. My one problem with the film is that Tall Girl wasn’t tall enough. She should’ve be 7’3 not 6’1

ya’ll really made a 6’1” girl look like she was 7’ while everyone else looked 5’ in #TallGirl ? i can promise you this is not a problem in highschool. how bout all the other kids that get bullied for their skin color or love interests and shit like that??

While I appreciate @Netflix having movie called Tall Girl, I was annoyed to see that the HS girl that all the kids were treating like a freak of nature was a whopping 6’1. 🤦🏽♀️ Seriously?? That’s not even that tall these days.

Tall girl on Netflix is dumb not bc of the message but bc she's literally not even THAT tall?? They just casted actors that are all shorter than like 5'5"

Okay, so it's fairly obvious that some casting trickery took place on Tall Girl.
Tall Girl's mum, for instance, is played by the lovely Angela Kinsey (The Office), who is only 5 foot 1. Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Harper – Tall Girl's sister – is even shorter at 5 feet. Tall Girl's dad, played by Steve Zahn, is 5 foot 7. And Tall Girl's male best friend who has a crush on her (played by Griffin Gluck) is also 5 foot 7.
You see where I'm going with this? Tall Girl is not a giant! She's just surrounded by a lot of people who are average or below average height. Which begs the question, does Tall Girl's school not have a basketball team?
Anyway. If you noticed that everyone in Tall Girl's life seemed to be a head or more shorter than her, you're not alone.
