Far From Home opens with an low budget In Memoriam video for the Avengers we lost in Endgame, but there's no tribute to Stan Lee.

With the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it's officially the end of an era. The film essentially caps off the end of Marvel's Phase 3 and brings Peter Parker to the forefront as one of the key Avengers.

While the whole film is essentially a tribute to Tony Stark's legacy (there are literally wall memorials everywhere Peter goes in Europe), there is also a tribute to those we lost in Endgame and it's a weirdly hilarious scene that happens at the start of the movie.

The tribute to Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff and Vision, who all died in the war against Thanos, as well as Steve Rogers, who took the opportunity to go back in time and live out his life with Peggy Carter, happens right at the beginning of the film just as the Marvel title card appears on screen.

Those sweet sweet vocals from Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You' start blasting as images of Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow and Vision flash across the screen. After a few seconds, it becomes clear that the tribute is actually a low budget powerpoint presentation–complete with Comic Sans font–that's been put together by Betty Brant and Jason Ionello for their special report. At least Nat finally got the tribute she deserved, am I RIGHT?

Their segment also goes on to explain the snap–or, the Blip, as it's known in Far From Home–and shouts out to those who disappeared for five years following Thanos' actions. Turns out that most of Peter's school, including MJ, Ned, Betty, Jason and Flash all got snapped while the rest of their school mates aged, resulting in younger brothers suddenly becoming older brothers. Yeah... it's weird.

Oh, and if you're wondering...sadly, there's no Stan Lee tribute in Far From Home.

The Marvel legend passed away before he could film a cameo and his final appearance in the MCU was in Avengers: Endgame. According to director Jon Watts, a cameo from Lee was never even discussed due to his health. Speaking to CinemaBlend, Watts said, “I think everyone sort of knew that [Stan] was sick and he had just filmed the cameo for Endgame. I think they shot that earlier, too… It felt right for the last thing to be in Endgame. So we never really talked about it, honestly.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home is in cinemas now.
