When I was a child, I only wanted the Happy Meal with the boy toy, and I only wanted to wear the boy uniform to school. Society told me I was just a tom-boy, but it wasn’t until I was 18 when I finally got the right group of friends around me that allowed me be myself and come to terms with the fact that I was transgender." Gottmik was a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13. Gottmik was the first first transmasculine contestant on the show, and she reached the final, but ultimately lost to Symone. In their Meet The Queens, Gottmik said: "I need to be the first trans winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, period […] I love to play with gender sometimes. Gottmik is close friends with YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous. The two appeared on the July front cover of Out magazine and appear to have a tight bond. They met back in 2018 when Gottmik did a drag makeover on Gigi for her YouTube channel. Gottmik auditioned to play Pinhead in the upcoming Hellraiser reboot on Hulu. Gottmik paid tribute to the character in the finale of Drag Race and after seeing her interpretation, the filmmakers behind the film reached out to her. Gottmik didn't get the part, though. She told EW: "I wasn’t menacing enough! I had to read a bunch, I was in my apartment, against the wall, full-on trying to be Pinhead, pretending to pull needles out of my head, just going in! Since, September 2021, Gottmik has hosted the YouTube and Podcast series No Gorge with fellow drag race alum Violet Chachki. Following the success of the podcast, the pair toured together in 2022.
Almost as soon as season 13 finished, fans started calling for Gottmik to appear on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. According to rumours, Gottmik won't be appearing on All Stars 8, so we might have wait a little longer to see Gottmik hit the runway away. [Getty]
