Speaking to Digital Spy, Sheehan hopes that his Umbrella Academy character won’t be seen as “the gay one” on the show. "Like it or not, if your character is labelled as a 'gay character', then that label becomes defining and it kind of reduces all else about the character…” he said. "Oversimplification if you just say, ‘Oh, well he’s the gay one’. So it doesn’t matter, basically, is the point. It doesn’t matter who he’s attracted to." [Netflix]
