Fans are campaigning to get Netflix to renew One Day at a Time' for season 4...
One Day at a Time is one of the best sitcoms on TV right now. The beloved Netflix series may only be three seasons old but, in that time, it's already established itself as one of the most important shows that Netflix has ever made. Every season of One Day at a Time covers groundbreaking themes (homophobia, racism, mental health), is hilarious (Rita Moreno always kills us) and brings us to tears (the end of season 2).
One Day at a Time is also one of the few series on TV today which centres a Latinx family and it does so in such a nuanced and impactful way. The fact that Penelope's daughter Elena is a lesbian is groundbreaking as are all of her great storylines. However, in spite of its critical acclaim and popularity with fans, Netflix are reportedly considering cancelling One Day at a Time unless it gets more viewers.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, One Day at a Time showrunner Gloria Caldéron Kellett revealed that the beloved show's future is in jeopardy. She wrote "Met with @Netflix about @OneDayAtATime S4. They made clear that they love the show, love how it serves underrepresented audiences, love its heart & humor, but...we need more viewers. They'll decide soon. I wish I felt more confident".
One Day at a Time season 2 and 3 both have 100% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

Understandably, fans are outraged and they're already doing all that they can to ensure that One Day at a Time is not cancelled ahead of season 4. Gloria ended her post writing "WHAT CAN YOU DO? Tell friends to watch!" and now viewers of the series from all around the world are taking to social media to campaign to get it renewed by tweeting the hashtag "#RenewODAAT".
Bcuz #RenewODAAT is trending, I’ll say it again.

WHY does Netflix push this struggle renewal narrative for One Day at a Time only? They swiftly renew/cancel other shows & publish no ratings. Why do they force a fight for revival every season with this one show? I’m tired of it.
