The Society is Netflix's latest hit series and the memes are as entertaining as the show itself.

Netflix is no stranger to releasing popular teen dramas. From 13 Reasons Why to Sex Education, the video streaming service has something for everyone. The Society changes things up a bit. As opposed to being set in a normal high school, it sees a group of students return home from a school trip, only to realise that they're the only people left in their town and they can't get out. It's addictive, it's terrifying and it's already inspired a massive amount of memes.

As the teen residents of West Ham (well... New Ham) attempt to adapt to a new society without adults and any access to the outside world, the town goes through various stages of calm and chaos. Every time it looks as though things are going okay, something big happens. From the shocking murder in episode 3 to the cliffhanger in the finale, the show is filled with twists and turns that are ripe for meme content.

Better yet, the show features a wide variety of characters to fall in love with and hate in equal measure. There's: Cassandra (a natural born leader), Allie (Cassandra's sister who lives in her shadow), Grizz (an angel who we must protect at all costs) and Campbell (a villain who is literally the worst). With that in mind, it should come as no shock that the memes slap. Here are just a few of the best ones so far.
