Zendaya makes history with Emmy win
Filming on season 2 is set to begin at the start of 2021, after it was shut down in March due to coronavirus.
Following Zendaya's monumental Emmy win for her role as Rue in Euphoria, the hype surrounding the show is back and bigger than ever. But for those of us who are desperately waiting to see what's going to happen in season 2, it looks like we've got a long wait ahead of us.
Euphoria season 2 was originally meant to air in 2020 but it's now been confirmed that filming on season 2 will not start until early 2021 – with the new season not being released until late 2021 or even 2022.
However, fans will be able to get their Euphoria fix with some new bridge episodes that will hopefully tide us over until season 2 arrives. HBO President Casey Bloys confirmed to Deadline that a “special COVID episode” was in the works.

Back in August, Zendaya also confirmed the news of a bridge episode in an interview with host Ben Platt on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Zendaya explained that table reads and costume fittings had taken place a few days before production was shut down on the new season, due to coronavirus safety concerns. But the cast and crew are hoping to figure out a way of delivering an episode with a smaller cast.
"We might end up doing a little bridge episode," she said. "An episode that we can do with a limited amount of people in a safer environment that can give people something—because we also miss Euphoria as the people who create it, too—and give everyone who loves the show a little something so we have something to live on until we are able to go into Season 2."

So far, only one bridge episode has been confirmed and it's unclear when that will begin filming. There's no confirmation of which characters will be appearing in that episode either.
At the end of August, Zendaya shared an image of Rue's Converse alongside the caption "Hello old friends," sparking speculation that she was back on set.
