What happens to Gamora after the battle in Endgame? A newly released deleted scene proves Gamora survived but she's not mourning Tony Stark like everyone else.

Marvel fans, cast your minds all the way back to April, when Avengers: Endgame had just hit theatres and we were still on an emotional roller coaster orchestrated by the Russo brothers. There were tears, sad goodbyes, and plenty of unanswered questions. One big unanswered question fans had after Endgame actually revolved around one character's fate in particular – Gamora's.

Because fans never actually saw what happened to Zoe Saldana's character in the end, much was left to the imagination, with some assuming that she had actually died in the final battle. However, a deleted scene has shed some light on Gamora's reaction to Tony Stark's death and clarified that she actually survived the battle at the end of the film.

Being Thanos' daughter, made things big time complicated for Gamora. Fans will remember that Thanos actually sacrificed Gamora in Infinity War on the planet of Vormir so he could acquire the Soul Stone.

However, in Avengers: Endgame, modern day Nebula traveled back to 2014 (when Gamora was still alive) and together they both return to the future for the final battle. Fast forward past that epic battle and...we don't really see what happens to Gamora. Did she die? Did she get injured? Did she catch an Uber out of there to beat the traffic? It was never explained.

A newly released deleted scene now sheds some much needed light on what happens post-Tony Stark's death.

Avengers: Endgame Deleted Scene - The Avengers Honor Tony Stark

In the clip, all the heroes take a knee for the fallen Tony Stark. Gamora, however, barely spares a glance before walking away.

This all makes sense because this is 2014 Gamora we're talking about. This version of Gamora doesn't even really know Starlord and has no emotional ties to anyone in this timeline, other than Nebula. Simply put, it would be pretty fake of Gamora to act heartbroken when she literally just arrived from the past and knows no one there.

It's a good thing Marvel patched up this little plot point before moving on to Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3. The James Gunn directed film is looking at a 2021 release date and could involve a very fascinating character arc for this version of Gamora.
