After revealing that he wants to "take a break" from acting, the AHS star has said that he won't be part of season 9.
Evan Peters is a legend when it comes to American Horror Story. The actor has played almost 15 different roles on the show and has appeared in every season so far - but it looks like we're about to experience a whole season of AHS without him if this news is true.
Fans have been speculating about whether or not Evan would be part of the upcoming season following two interviews with GQ about how difficult his roles have been and how much they have affected him on a personal level.
Evan has now appeared to confirm that he will not be returning for AHS season 9.
Speaking to Extra on the red carpet at Wondercon for Dark Phoenix on March 29, Evan was asked whether or not he was involved in the upcoming season. According to this clip, he replied: "No, I'm going to sit a season out."
Sad news American Horror Story fans! I interviewed #EvanPeters last week at Wondercon and he confirmed he’s not going to be part of the next season of #AHS. He said he’s “sitting this one out.” 😢😢😢

In a recent interview with GQ, Evan said that he was going to take some time away from acting after going through a "full-on burnout" following his heavy roles in both American Horror Story and Pose.
"I’m going to take a break, regroup, decompress, get back in touch with what I feel like I want to do," he said to the magazine. "Not that I didn’t want to do any of those roles – they’re exactly what I wanted to do. It was just zero to 100 instantaneously. I want to play music."
In 2018, he also opened up about how his roles on the two Ryan Murphy shows affected him.
"It's been all a massive stretch for me and really difficult to do," he says of playing those characters. "It's hurting my soul and Evan as a person. There's this massive amount of rage that's been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that's been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I'm sick. I don't feel good."
Judging by the short clip, Evan will only be sitting one season out and will likely (hopefully) be back for the show's huge tenth season. For now, it looks like he'll be taking a well deserved break.
