Sarah Paulson says this American Horror Story season might be her last
Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman and Denis O'Hare all return, but Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson have not been included.
American Horror Story season is finally, finally upon us! AHS: NYC – the title and theme for the long-awaited season 11 – has been confirmed, it's dropping in October but the plot details and everything else in between are being kept under strict wraps.
One thing we do know for sure now, though? The official main cast list has been revealed. But there's some pretty huge names that aren't on there. Sarah Paulson? Evan Peters? It looks like they might be not appearing in AHS: NYC. Not in a main cast member capacity, at least. It remains to be seen if they'll pop up as guest stars.
Anyway, here's who has been announced in the official main cast for AHS: NYC, led by fan favourite icon Billie Lourd.
As previously mentioned, it looks like AHS: NYC will be missing quite a few familiar AHS faces, as the likes of Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Adina Porter will not be in the main cast.
Elsewhere, the legendary Patti LuPone and Zachary Quinto will finally be returning to the series. There's also plenty of new faces that will be appearing in their first season of the main AHS series.
Character names and details have not yet been confirmed, so fans will have to sit tight and wait for more information about who is playing who, and how their characters could (potentially) tie into the wider AHS universe and timelines.
As always with AHS, we can probably expect some familiar faces to pop up throughout the season who haven't been included on the main cast list.
Earlier this year, Sarah Paulson revealed that she wasn't sure if she would return for another season of American Horror Story. Speaking to Variety, Sarah confessed: "It’s not that I’m not open to it. I’m always open to it, but I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time, and people might start getting sick of me in that world."
"Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second. Other people can do that too! Also, my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘Momma’s tired!’"
Sarah didn't completely rule out a return to the series in the future, but it seems like she might be sitting NYC out. (Unless she pops up briefly in one of the episodes... Who knows? Only time will tell!)
Evan has not spoken about his involvement in the latest season of American Horror Story. It also seems unlikely that he'll appear in the new season, given that he's spent the last year busy at work on Netflix's DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. But we'll find out soon enough if an Evan Peters guest appearance is on the cards. Fingers crossed!
If neither of them appear in NYC, it'll be the second time the two fan faves and OG cast members have skipped a season. Neither of them appeared in AHS: 1984.
