Who Is Susie from 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'?

Susie Putnam is one of Sabrina's best friends at Baxter High. Lachlan Watson portrays Susie and fans are already raving about the character, who is a new one in the Sabrina universe.
Netflix dropped Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Friday, Oct. 26 and the series is an instant hit with fans. Familiar characters like Sabrina, Hilda, Zelda, and Harvey return in the new series, along with some new names and faces. Viewers are especially interested in the character of Susie Putnam, played by Lachlan Watson.
Who is Susie Putnam?
Susie Putnam is one of Sabrina's close friends at Baxter High. When we first meet Susie, we learn that the character has been harassed and assaulted by members of the football team. Together, with Rosalind and Sabrina, Susie becomes a founding member of WICCA (the Women's Intersectional Cultural and Creative Association).
Susie lives on the outskirts of town but may have some supernatural shenanigans closer to home than they might think.
Fans are thrilled that Sabrina Spellman stands up for Susie so fiercely. Fans are also raving about the representation of a non-binary actor playing a non-binary character on a major television show.

Lachlan has specified that their pronouns are "he/him" and "they/them".
In an interview with Variety, Lachlan said of their character, Susie: “Susie provides a side of feminism that really represents that you really don’t have to be female to be a feminist."
"It really encompasses all minorities and all misunderstood people, or gender inequality as a whole, I think,” Lachlan explained. “Throughout Susie’s sort of queer journey — specifically a bit of a genderqueer journey — which really speaks to me, it’s having that group of incredible feminists behind their back.”
In an interview with Syfy, Lachlan explained how their own experiences informed the character of Susie, as well as early conversations with show runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
"I dived in head first and some of the conversations [with Roberto] were just about my thoughts on gender and my personal life and my transition, very strange transition as it was, and kind of the person that I've become."
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is undoubtedly one of Netflix's biggest titles this year and the representation of Susie on the show already has fans thrilled.
