Marvel Is About To Introduce Their First Muslim Superhero To The MCU

A big Ms Marvel-centric project is "definitely sort of in the works" in the MCU.
Following the success of Black Panther, Marvel is going all in with the expansion of diverse characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As of right now, there's two female hero-centric Marvel films in production - Captain Marvel and a Black Widow centred movie - and it sounds like we can add one more character to that list under the name of Ms. Marvel.
Speaking to the BBC, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spilled the tea on some "plans" to introduce Ms Marvel into the MCU. According to Feige, there is something "definitely sort of in the works" for the character. Ms Marvel aka Kamala Khan, was introduced into the Marvel comics in 2013 and she's Marvel's first muslim superhero.
Don't expect anything just yet though - Ms Marvel will probably appear on screen after the release of Captain Marvel because her character is inspired by the hero who will soon be played by Brie Larson in the upcoming Captain Marvel-centric film. "We have plans for that once we've introduced Captain Marvel to the world," said Feige.
While nothings been cemented timeline-wise, fans are still losing it over the eventual on-screen introduction of such a diverse and inclusive character.
not to sound shallow but honestly i’m really excited about the kamala khan / ms. marvel movie rumours because south asians are rarely represented in the super hero genre pic.twitter.com/POHVxxDGWB

As for who will be cast as Ms Marvel in the MCU? Despite some fans already lobbying for Priyanka Chopra (who voices the character in a video game), many believe it's important that the role go to an actual muslim, Pakistani-American actor. As described in the comics, Khan is a teenage Pakistani American from Jersey City in New Jersey and fans want to see that accurately portrayed on screen.
stop fancasting priyanka chopra as ms marvel she’s supposed to be a pakistani teenager not an adult indian woman don’t take rep away from pakistanis and perpetuate the racist idea that indians and pakistanis are the same and interchangeable thanks for coming to my ted talk

if they actually introduce Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan) into the MCU, she deserves to be portrayed by a dark skinned, muslim Pakistani girl under the age of 21 and literally nobody else. pic.twitter.com/O4W3605Fg3

There's no official date for when Ms Marvel will eventually show up but you never truly know in the world of Marvel. Could she make a surprise appearance in the post-credits scenes of Captain Marvel? Or maybe even Avengers 4? Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
