The reboot will be written by Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and will have new characters and a new story.
Pretty Little Liars only aired its final episode 3 years ago, and now, in a move that absolutely no one asked for, it's apparently being rebooted into a brand new series.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, sources have said that Warner Bros. TV is set to revive the franchise, with Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa "spearheading a new take" on the series.
The new Pretty Little Liars series is said to feature "a new story and new characters, with Aguirre-Sacasa set to pen the script."
As expected, fans have been pretty vocal about how they feel about rebooting such an iconic and popular series, so soon after it ended.
Some are intrigued and excited to see how wild the show's storylines could turn out to be and some are simply wondering "Why??????" Many others have also commented on the cancellations of both spin-offs (Pretty Little Liars: Ravenswood, and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists) after just one season.

According to THR, there's no network attached to the project just yet, but it could end up on streaming service HBO Max.
It's also unclear if the creator of the original Pretty Little Liars series, I. Marlene King, is attached to the reboot. Last year, King left Warner Bros. and is now with Disney's 20th TV.
