Things on the internet often move fast and sometimes it's hard to keep up with the latest challenge. Last week, Blac Chyna memes and a viral maths tweet were having a bit of a moment, but this week it's all about texting your number neighbour and the results are hilarious.

Basically, your number neighbour is the person who is one digit off of your own phone number. It's not exactly a new thing either, number neighbour is also known as "text door neighbor", which Know Your Meme reports was a term coined in 2008. Well, it's having a 2019 revival right now thanks to some hilarious conversations going viral on Twitter.

Now a load of people are texting their number neighbours and posting the replies on Twitter. Sadly, sometimes your number neighbour doesn't always want to be contacted, which results in some awkward exchanges.

Sometimes your number neighbour will just roast you without warning.

Or, call the police on you.

It really hurts when they don't reply.

But the cutest friendships can come from texting your number neighbour.

It's always a bit sad when your number neighbour never shows up.
