The #BandAid30 charity single 'Do They Know It's Christmas' has been described as "amazing" and "beautiful" by fans following its first radio play on Capital Breakfast this morning.

The track which features the likes of One Direction, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs and Ellie Goulding has been organised by Sir Bob Geldof with the aim of raising money to help fight Ebola and save lives across Africa.

Fans took to Twitter after hearing the new version of the track creating a UK & Worldwide trend.

One Direction's Niall Horan told Capital's Max during the recording, "It was great to be on a room full of such legends. I hope it's number one, it needs to be!"

Capital's Jingle Bell Ball star Sam Smith flew in from NYC to contribute his vocals to the track revealing how he reacted when he got the call from Sir Bob Geldof to take part.

Olly Murs told us, "It's an absolute pleasure, I'm very very proud, so looking forward to it."

The 'Wrapped Up' singer also found time to take a cheeky selfie with One Direction's Harry Styles.
