The Voice mentor has been struggling to understand his fellow judges on the talent show.

Labrinth and Cheryl Cole have been helping Will.i.am understand British slang, according to reports.

The Black Eyed Peas star has apparently been struggling to understand what fellow The Voice UK judges Jessie J, Danny O'Donoghue and Tom Jones have been saying at times on the programme.

Labrinth, who met Will.i.am at the BRIT Awards recently, is apparently planning to take the rapper-producer to a football match.

"Will wants a crash course in youth talk," a source told The Sun.

"Pal Cheryl Cole has taught him some of the lingo but Labrinth suggested he watch EastEnders and Skins. Lab's also going to take him to a footie match."

Last month, Labrinth told Capital FM that they had discussed working together after meeting at the BRITs in February.

"Will.i.am came and stopped me and said, 'I love 'Earthquake', we need to work'," he said.

"I'm like, 'What's going on with my life, it just keeps getting more crazy'. I took his number and he sent me an email and I'm going to work on one of his records."

Labrinth released his debut album 'Electronic Earth' this month.
