The Black Eyed Peas' star has been named as the company's "director of creativity" and will find "new ways to communicate, create and entertain".
Intel's president said: "We're thrilled to tap into the limitless creativity will.i.am brings to the table. He's a brilliant artist and an innovator pushing the bounds of technology," she added.
"Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers," he said. "Teaming up with the scientists, researchers and computer programmers is going to be amazing," he added.
It's not clear how often will will be seen behing a desk at the Intel HQ.
