The Black Eyed Peas plan charity concert

The Black Eyed Peas are said to be planning a charity concert.

The band are said to be taking inspiration from Simon & Garfunkel whose 1981 gig in Central Park, New York attracted 500,000 fans.

According to reports, the band are keen to re-create a similar summer show in the park.

A source told The New York Post: 'The concert had been set up with Mayor Bloomberg's office.

'They want it to rival the concert that Simon & Garfunkel did in Central Park.'

The gig is expected to take place on June 9th in Central Park's Great Lawn with proceeds going to charity.
