While the casting process is reportedly in its very early stages, Riverdale's own Veronica Lodge is apparently being considered for the MCU.
If Captain Marvel (and Wonder Woman before her) has left you thirsty for more female-led superhero movies, you're in luck.
It was announced previously that Marvel was working on a Black Widow-centric film, due to be released after this year's wave of MCU outings. With production scheduled to start in June 2019, the studio is now reportedly looking to cast a number of new roles alongside Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff.
As reported by That Hashtag Show who sleuthed the character breakdowns for the film, there's a bunch of supporting roles that are up for grabs with a very interesting set of actors that are reportedly being considered - including Riverdale's Camila Mendes.
Alongside the main male villain and a secondary antagonist played by a woman in her 50s, the studio are looking to cast a "kick ass female Bond," as well as a smaller supporting role, played by a young actress of colour between the ages of 15-25.
The site reports that while it's still very early in the process, the list of actresses that are reportedly being considered includes Storm Reid (A Wrinkle In Time), Isabela Moner (Transformers: The Last Knight), Hannnah Quinlivan (Skyscraper) and Camila Mendes.
Of course, none of this is official so don't get too excited a bout anything just yet. No offers have been made and no one has been cast. Other actors that the site lists as being considered for other roles by the studio include Emma Watson and American Horror Story's Andre Holland.
Black Widow is reportedly set to be released at some point in 2020, as part of Marvel's next wave of films. Following Captain Marvel's release and capping off this 2019's schedule, Avengers: Endgame will be released in April 2019 and Spiderman: Far From Home arrives in cinemas in July 2019.
