An investigation's underway after staff at a bookies were threatened with a handgun.

At about 5.40pm on Monday 16 November a man entered the Coral Bookmakers in Garden Street, Darfield, reportedly armed with a black handgun.

The man threatened staff before stealing about £700 of cash and leaving on foot.

No shots were fired and no one was injured, however the two members of staff were understandably left shaken by the incident.

The man is described as about 5ft 10ins and of a slender build.

He was wearing a fluorescent orange high visibility vest with a black jacket underneath, black gloves and beige combat trousers with black patches between the knee and ankle.

He was also wearing a woolly hat and a black scarf to cover his face.
