The 'Walks Like Rihanna' star talks recovering from surgery fresh from his return to the band.

The Wanted's Nathan Sykes has opened up about his career-threatening vocal cord injury as well as his recovery after having surgery to deal with the problem.

The UK singer-songwriter admitted it "wasn't pleasant" having to sit at home recovering while his bandmates were out promoting their single 'Walks Like Rihanna' in America.

"It was pretty severe," Nathan revealed to ITV's Daybreak today (13th June). "I was pretty scared for a while, it wasn't pleasant.

"It's a lot better, there's still a bit of recovery to do, but slowly and steadily and all that," the UK singer explained.

Nathan made his live return with The Wanted at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2013 this past weekend (9th June), appearing as a surprise halfway through their performance of 'I Found You' at Wembley Stadium.
