The 'We Found Love' singer teases fans with the cover for the single ahead of its world premiere later this week.

Rihanna has unveiled the artwork for her new single 'Diamonds', as well as confirming that the song will be available to download on iTunes this week.

The track is the first single to be taken from her upcoming seventh studio album, which the star has been teasing with the launch of a new website, Rihanna7.com.

The cover artwork for 'Diamonds' shows RiRi rolling diamonds on a piece of paper. It will be given its world premiere on radio this Wednesday (26th September).

Over the weekend, Rihanna revealed that 'Diamonds' would mark a change of direction for fans of the star's previous releases.

"Your happy and hippy," she said of the song. "It's laid-back but it's hopeful. It's a record that... gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it.

"The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and... a little different to what people would expect, I think. I'm excited about that," she continued. "I'm excited to surprise them sonically."

Rihanna's currently untitled new album is expected to be released just a year after 'Talk That Talk', which featured her award-winning Calvin Harris produced single 'We Found Love'.

The star's new single is also the title of her forthcoming 'Diamonds' world tour, which kicks off in Buffalo, New York in March 2013.
