The 'Right There' star also reveals the pair couldn't be a celebrity couple like Kayne West and Kim Kardashian.

Nicole Scherzinger has opened up on her plans for marriage and kids with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton and stated that she hopes to be be wed in the next few years.

The former Pussycat Doll told the latest edition of Marie Claire magazine that the sports star keeps her "grounded" and hits out at the suggestion they are a "celebrity couple".

"Lewis and I are a team and we're really there for each other, and the time we spend together I do cherish," she revealed. "It's separate from everything else."

The singer admitted she always endeavours to keep as many details on her personal life as private as possible and couldn't emulate the constant attention of couples such as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

"I know there are a lot of relationships who, you know… Take Kanye and Kim – well, they're perfect for the cameras," she said. "Lewis and I are a bit more subdued."

Asked if she has plans to walk down in the aisle in the near future, she agreed and stated: "I'm not getting any younger."

She also took the time to discuss what sort of parent she believes she will be.

"I don't want to have kids now, though. When I'm a mum, I'm not going to be one of those mums who has nannies," she said. "Actually, I might have nannies – never say never – but I'm not having someone else raise my kids. I think five years might be a good time to look at having children, but I think whenever it's meant to happen is when it will happen. Right now, I'm focusing on my career."

Nicole is currently appearing as a judge on the latest series of The X Factor and is preparing to release a new single.

Speaking to Capital this month, she revealed that fans can expect to hear new material very soon.
