The two former reality show boy bands will appear in the video for the ITV1 show's new charity single.

JLS and One Direction have finished filming the music video for this year's The X Factor charity single alongside the show's 15 finalists.

The two bands were pictured on set alongside popular contestants like Misha B, Amelia Lily and Little Mix while shooting the video to their cover of Rose Royce's 'Wishing On A Star'.

The Winter-themed video is expected to premiere sometime this week ahead of the single's release this weekend.

Syco boss Simon Cowell has confirmed all profits made from the single will go to children's charity Together For Short Lives.

"Having worked close hand with this charity and seeing the amazing work they do for kids and their families who need help and support, I am thrilled that The X Factor charity single this year will benefit this charity," Cowell said in a statement.

This single marks the second year in a row One Direction have contributed to The X Factor charity release after 'Heroes' last year.

JLS member Aston Merrygold recently teased that the two former X Factor boy bands are hoping to work together on a second collaboration time in the future.

'Wishing On A Star' will be available to download from 27th November and will be released in shops the following day.
